Executive Summary
The students’ and workers’ accommodation market includes Workers' Dormitories, Migrant Workers' Camps, and Dormitories, Off Campus Establishments.

The global students’ and workers’ accommodation market is expected to grow more than $30 billion in 2019. One of the reasons for this growth can be an increasing trend of employers hiring workers from other countries. This is driving the workers accommodation market. High demand for migrant workers results in increasing demand for migrant worker camps to accommodate international workers. Migrant workers make up almost 80% of the population in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates; while in construction and domestic work in the Gulf States, migrant workers make up over 95 per cent of the work force.

The top six competitors in the market made up more than 5% of the total market share in 2015. American Campus Communities was the largest competitor with 3% of the market, followed by United Group PLC, Educational Realty Trust, Campus Crest Communities Inc., Centurion Corporation and The Scion Group. Student housing projects are providing additional facilities such as fitness spaces, tech suites, meeting spaces and music rooms all within the residence hall. Facilities are being designed in a manner that will help students connect and collaborate, which is strengthening student retention rates. For example, at Clinton Hill based Pratt Institute, CannonDesign are designing wellness and dining facilities in the student housing campus to engage the first-year students.
